Martha's Closet Missions

At Malaga United Methodist Church, we believe that when God blesses us, it’s so we can bless others. Martha’s Closet, our church’s food pantry, is one way we live that out. We share emergency food with love and respect, offering more than just groceries. Every visitor receives kindness, care, and grace. As Jesus said in Matthew 25:35,
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."

How We Operate

  • Open Hours: 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
  • Location: Basement of Malaga UMC – enter through the doors between the sanctuary and parsonage
  • Requirements: Local residency; a utility bill is enough to qualify


Martha’s Closet is named in honor of Mrs. Martha Langley, a faithful church member since 1947 who served the Lord and our community for over 70 years.

Every Can Counts: Simple Ways to Support Martha’s Closet

Martha’s Closet relies on the generosity of people like you. We welcome donations of shelf-stable foods such as canned tuna, peanut butter and jelly, pasta and sauce, cereal, ketchup, mustard, and other essentials. Food items can be dropped off anytime at the parsonage. If you prefer to give financially, just click the Donate button below to make a secure gift through PayPal—please note “Food Pantry” so our coordinators can purchase the most needed items. Ongoing support comes from our congregation on Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month), as well as from our sister churches—Porchtown Zion UMC and Plainville UMC. Our church CFO also steps in when needed to allocate funds for grocery runs. Martha’s Closet serves 50 to 60 families every month, and every donation, big or small, helps us continue meeting those needs with compassion and care.
