Our Philosophy of Christian Education

We believe that education is not simply about gathering knowledge, but about growing in wisdom and understanding through the lens of the gospel. The Bible is the infallible Word of God, and Jesus Christ is central to our faith and to the world’s history. As we teach, we strive to guide each student into a relationship with God through His Holy Spirit, transforming their lives and helping them live out their faith in all areas of life. Our educational ministries aim to develop both competence and character in children and adults alike.

Youth Ministry: Developing Young Disciples

Youth Ministry Purpose
Our youth ministry focuses on guiding teens through the challenges of today’s world, helping them understand their place in God’s plan. It is not just about teaching; it's about fostering relationships and building community. Youth are not marginal members but active co-creators of the church's mission. Through youth events, Bible studies, and community service projects, we aim to equip young people with a deep, abiding faith that can carry them through life.

Sunday School & Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Sunday School at Malaga UMC is more than just a classroom—it’s a place where both children and adults grow in faith together. Each Sunday at 10:30 AM, we offer age-appropriate lessons rooted in scripture, focusing on practical ways to live out the gospel. Vacation Bible School (VBS) is another key part of our Christian education ministry, offering an exciting and engaging way for children to learn about God’s love. Through music, crafts, games, and Bible stories, VBS helps children understand the truths of the Bible while having fun. Last year’s "Hero Central" VBS taught kids to find strength in God through stories of courage, wisdom, and hope. Both Sunday School and VBS are designed to create a sense of community, security, and spiritual growth for our children.

Youth Group Activities and Outreach

Our youth are encouraged to actively participate in church and community outreach. For example, our Youth Group prepared a Thanksgiving meal for the homeless in the Vineland area on November 18, 2017. Youth activities also include regular fellowship and service events, helping to build character and a sense of responsibility.
